I really like this ad/video for the Mercedes F Cell technology. What I enjoyed most is the use of exciting visual technology that aligns with their F Cell technology. PLenty of surprise, OMG and thats awesome to be had, but it all related back to the actual product. Zero emissions = invisible car.
Is your brand/client ready to create a game? Yo Yo Games might be able help.
3D printers are all the rage! That's not really news to anyone really paying attention, but the enthusiasm on KickStarter for new models is impressive. I guess I'll just have to add one of these bad boys to my dream list, and look for a second job to pay for it. :)
Another Great use of a QR Code. Are we finally starting to understand how to use QR Codes for good and not evil?
GREAT! A world without those damn CATCHA boxes would be a fine world indeed. I like the idea of playing a quick, simple game to prove my humanness vs. those symbolic and hard to read letters combinations. PLUS, we're talking about new ad space, new media for our clients.
In the article on Venture Beat, several potencial interactive games are mentioned. The pizza game discussed would be a fun opportunity for any pizza brand. Enter a code on a phone, if your a phone company. Put together a bike, if you manufacture bicycles. You get the point. Read the full story on Venture Beat for more details.
Seriously, this is exciting. Next stop, Orbit City. Rut roh George.
AR hits the literary world via Pengin books. I'd like to see this running on a tablet, I think it could be a fun way to bring the classics to a younger generation. On the phone in the video it seems a bit slow and tedious, but on a larger screen it might be more compelling. Plus, this is the first attempt to bring AR into reading rooms. I think there is good potencial for AR to become the next evolution of books. From reading, to listening to book on tape, to watching AR.
Here's a great demo video from Leap Motion showing uses for their new product. Nice.
Gesture controlled, via your computers webcam, music playback.
I just downloaded Flutter. It's still in beta, but I see some fun potencial here. Still a little choppy, but it works. According to their twitter page they are working on new gestures, since right now all you can do is play and pause (the same gesture).
My cube-neighbors probably think I'm giving my computer a high-five, but that's only because they're not cool enough to have gesture controlled iTunes. ;)
